Last year I helped Cyndi record a song that’s featured in a campy murder TV series for Amazon in which she has a cameo role who is swiftly killed off. If you haven’t seen “The Horror of Dolores Roach,” think Sweeney Todd for the modern era, with empanadas (which I’ll never look at the same way again).
Anyway, it was excellent to work with Cyndi, co-writer and guitarist Ben Hopkins, and Sean Pelton (SNL house band!) on drums. We cut most of the tracks at the legendary Sear Sound and mixed it at the Power Station Studio G. I think the punk energy is a pleasant surprise for fans, and definitely fun from a production perspective (there’s no such thing as too many guitar tracks).
