The first project I brought to Elm Street Studios was Symphony in Bossa by Minas, which we started in 2013. It was a big ask for a studio – the first tracking day involved drums, bass, piano, guitar, vocals, and a 15 piece big band. The studio was well equipped to handle it all, with great isolation, sight lines, and an amazing piano. After that, I knew that this facility could handle any project I could bring through the doors.
In 2021, I “moved in” to Elm Street. I brought all of my gear and work there pretty much exclusively. I also manage the space. This has been the most amazing opportunity of my career so far. To have a studio home is a luxury and a privilege. To be able customize the space to my tastes and workflow is a dream.
For most of the studio’s life, it was a “iykyk” situation. Now, via a new website, you can know! We are very proud to showcase this beautiful room, and you can see where I spend much of my time these days. Special thanks to Nicky Hyman for the great website build. Take a look around and see why I fell in love with this place 12 years ago.
