This song is third on the album. Now we’re really settling into the record. In many ways, this is probably our most straight forward song. It has that acoustic singer-songwriter energy to it. In fact, one of my favorite parts of recording this song were the lead vocals. The original lead vocal for this song wasn’t quite cutting it. Aaron had the idea to re-record the vocals but with the whole band muted while he recorded. He sang the whole song to just a single acoustic guitar part to bring out the intimacy of the lyrics. To me, this immediately gave the song the right feeling.
